CARBmaster milk - Check it out!

Don't you dread all the extra sugar and carbs in yogurts? Well Smiths has the answer. Have you discovered the Kroger brand CARBmaster yogurts yet? Fat free, low sugar and higher protein. If you haven't you should- they are great thrown in a morning protein shake or mixed with cottage cheese for a high protein snack. But recently I've discovered something more exciting!

CARBmaster nonfat reduced sugar milk (vanilla flavored is awesome).  It has fewer calories than skim, WAY less sugar, less sodium, more calcium, and most importantly...more PROTEIN.
11grams of protein per 8 oz! It's pricey...$4.99 per 1/2 gallon carton, but 8 oz a day for a shake will last you a week. Try it out and give a review.
Another exciting find was the Kroger brand GREEK LITE yogurts.  At a whopping 16 grams of protein per serving it is an amazing snack and very creamy.  Sometimes I need a  break from that protein powder taste in my smoothies. So lately I've tried using 8 oz CARBmaster milk with 1 carton GREEK LITE yogurt blended with ice....I still end up with 27g protein, and I can take a break from the protein powders.  My kids like it too.  Try it! Here is the nutritional information for the CARBmaster nonfat reduced sugar milk. It is lactose free and sweetened with sucralose.

Cleanse week on Dr. Oz

All week on the Dr. Oz show he explored various cleanse diets - and I learned a lot.  Check out www.doctoroz.com for all the info and recipes.  Bottom line was that if you want to lose weight and be lean you MUST eat protein at each meal, ramp up the veggies, do HIIT type exercise, and take all those supplements that help us digest and absorb all the nutrients from our foods.  Genius right? I felt more inspired to make healthier choices and take the time to prepare more balanced meals. At least for myself right? I mean I'm not gonna waste that mac n cheese on the shelf...but someone else can have it.

Welcome! We are under construction

Yes...a place just for us girls who love working out, eating clean, and aging gracefully. I've loved chatting with you in between sets at the gym, trying to share tips and recipes, but we never get to finish those conversations! There is so much more I'd like to learn from you women who inspire me every morning with your dedication, strength and beauty.  I thought we'd create a place where we can learn and share those great discoveries and tips that can motivate and keep us on track to reach our goals.  We can also cheer each other on as we celebrate each others successes...no matter how big or small.  Like when we make it through the day without a diet coke- or a spoonful of peanut butter! Ha. I hope you will join me - and post all your yummy healthy recipes, new training ideas, work out playlists, and anti-aging strategies.  Let's face it girls - we need each other!
